How does the deposit work with individual leases?

For example, for a total rent of €1,500 shared equally among 3 tenants, each pays a deposit of €500 (unfurnished) or €1,000 (furnished). In a joint lease with a solidarity clause, each tenant is responsible for the entire rent and security deposit. If one tenant doesn't pay, the landlord can pursue the others.
